(Undated) Alliant Energy asks the Iowa Utilities Board to increase electric and natural gas rates. The company is asking for a seven-point-seven percent increase for electricity and a five percent increase for gas. Alliant Energy says it requests the increase to prepare for the energy-changing landscape. The IUB will look over their demands in about ten months. If approved, changes will occur late next year.
Hearing requests can be sent to the Iowa Utilities Board online, by email at customer@iub.iowa.gov, or by mail at the Iowa Utilities Board, 1375 E. Court Avenue in Des Moines, Iowa, 50319-0069. All comments are public record and accessible to the Office of Consumer Advocate, which represents the public interest in rate cases before the Iowa Utilities Board.
The IUB will conduct a series of customer comment meetings that are open to the public. A meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, November 8, at 6:00 p.m. at Southwestern Community College, Performing Arts Center, 1501 W. Townline Street, Creston, Iowa, 50801.
