(Des Moines) The National Weather Service is calling for the possibility of severe weather on Thursday across southwest Iowa.
Forecasters are calling for a possibility of scattered showers and thunderstorms today, with rain chances becoming more widespread tonight. There is a low risk of a few severe storms later this afternoon and evening, with hail the main hazard.
More widespread showers and thunderstorms are possible on Thursday into Friday before ending Friday night into Saturday. Additional strong to perhaps severe storms are possible on Thursday evening in southwest Iowa. Any chance of severe weather on Friday has not yet been determined.
Rain totals Wednesday through Saturday will average one to three inches, with some locations experiencing higher amounts.
Breezy to windy conditions will be possible later Thursday through Saturday, with some lulls as low pressure passes through the state.
