(Minneapolis, MN) — Customs officials say they seized a box of giraffe feces at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport. An Iowa woman tried to declare the feces after returning from a trip to Africa last Friday, according to a U.S. Customs and Border Protection news release. She allegedly told workers that she planned to turn the feces into a necklace. CBP destroyed them. They say its not illegal to bring animal feces into the U.S., but those who do so need a Veterinary Services Permit.
