(Avoca, IA) – On this week’s Upcoming Podcast, we talked to AHSTW senior Nick Denning. The senior plays football, basketball, and baseball while running track for the Vikings. As it is football season, Nick plays primarily as a safety on the defense and as a receiver on the offense for AHSTW. Denning is one of the primary vocal leaders on defense for AHSTW and even helps in calling positioning for his teammates.
Nick has taken a piece of advice from head coach GG Harris to use his leadership and confidence to impact others in his life.
The AHSTW Vikings are looking for a win on Friday night as they are taking on Missouri Valley who is 1-4 on the season. They have a good chance to earn that win, but Denning is looking even further past this week’s game.
As this is football season, Nick is fully focused on football, but his passion is not on the field but rather on the diamond. He likes every aspect of baseball other than the losing factor, especially when it comes down to his team.
Nick’s passion for sports does go outside of just playing as he is a big Dallas Cowboys fan and a fan of Padres’ Manny Machado.
