(Montgomery Co) A man from Canada was arrested for Theft 2nd Degree in Montgomery County.
The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office says at approximately 7:30 a.m. on Monday, the Sheriff’s Office received a call from the 2200 block of Highway 34 of a vehicle that had been stolen. The stolen tan 2002 Chevy Silverado was parked on the south end of the property. There was also a vehicle not owned by the residents of the property parked beside where the Silverado had been parked. A VIN check of this vehicle found it was stolen from a property in Mills County.
At approximately 8:43 a.m., the owner of the stolen Silverado notified the Sheriff’s Office that he received a call that his vehicle was parked in the AgriVision parking lot. The Sheriff’s Office and the Red Oak Police Department responded and found the Silverado and began an investigation into who parked the vehicle at that location.
In a joint investigation between the Montgomery and Mills County Sheriff’s Offices and the Red Oak Police Department, a physical description of the suspect, clothing and name were obtained. With the help of surveillance camera footage, the person of interest was located at Cubby’s Truck Stop.
The suspect, 32-year-old Tyriel Gordon of Franklin, Quebec was arrested and transported to the Montgomery County Law Enforcement Center and charged with Theft 2nd Degree. He was held on $5,000 cash bond.
