(Atlantic) Fundraising for the Atlantic Splash Pad continues, and businesses are stepping up. Splash Pad Committee Co-Chair Jeremy Butler and committee members appeared at AtlanticFest on Saturday.
Butler says a group of people would like to raise money to recognize Fantastic Fay Erickson at the splash pad built at the Sunnyside Pool Faye spent hours at the pool talking to people, picking up trash, and singing.
The Fundraising Committee has a few options available. If $10,000 is raised, a water feature could be named after Fantastic Faye. The committee has blown by that pledge already. The second option is to call one of the two shade pavilions after him. These will be located at either end of the Splash Pad, and naming rights on one of them is $50,000. If $100,000 is raised, it could be the “Fantastic Faye Memorial Splash Pad!”
The pad, including the overflow zone, is 5,000 square feet, and the surface with the features is a little over 4,000 square feet; the entire project will have 25 and 30 features.
