(Waco, TX) — Iowa St. football got their biggest win of the season last week with an upset over then #24 Oklahoma St. and now they hope to continue their good fortune as they visit Baylor on Saturday, coverage on KSOM.
The Bears are 5-3 and coming off their biggest win of the season a 41-9 blowout over UCF. Junior QB D.J. Lagway who transferred from Florida threw for 319 yards and 4 TD. ISU Head Coach Jimmy Rogers says he is a talented and explosive player
Lagway is a completely different QB than what Iowa St. faced last week in Drew Mestemaker. Rogers says its hard to say the defense played great against the Cowboys after giving up 49 points but they held their own against a player who could be a high NFL draft pick
Rogers says it was a great win over Oklahoma St. but its time to move on
Baylor will run the football by committee but Lagway has a clear number one target in the passing game in Senior Gavin Freeman who has 63 catches for 792 yards and 3 TD. Rogers says they are good up front as well
Baylor did fire their Head Coach Dave Aranda and Defensive Coordinator Joe Klanderman is the interim coach. Rogers says he did not understand why Aranda was let go
Iowa St. is 4-4, Kickoff is at 11 am Saturday morning, Cyclones Pre Game at 9 am on KSOM
