(Des Moines) Former Vice President Mike Pence says he’ll “restore civility” to the White House if elected president. On Thursday, Pence spoke to hundreds of people at the Des Moines Register Political Soapbox at the Iowa State Fair.
The former VP and Indiana governor said, “In Iowa and Indiana, we know how to talk to people who don’t agree with us.” Pence said he hopes to see civility restored among citizens. Still, as he walked to the soapbox, some former President Donald Trump supporters heckled him, including one woman shouting “traitor.”
