(Bedford) A Taylor County man died in a UTV accident north of Bedford early this (Saturday) morning.
The Iowa State Patrol says the accident happened at 12:36 a.m. on Forest Avenue and 185th Lane in Taylor County. Authorities say a passenger, 24-year-old Clelland David Beason of Bedford, died from his injuries in the crash.
According to the report, 24-year-old Jesse Lee Young of Lenox drove a 2015 Polaris Razor northbound on Forest Avenue between 190th Street and 185th when the UTV skidded off the roadway into the west ditch. Young corrected the UTV back onto the road and started to skid again towards the east ditch; Young corrected again, causing the vehicle to roll in the roadway ejecting Beason out of the side window area of the UTV and landing underneath the UTV.
Clarinda Medic 4 transported Clelland David Beason to the Clarinda Hospital, where he died from his injuries.
