(Atlantic) The Atlantic Splash Pad Committee is launching its fundraising efforts today. The committee was formed in 2022 to spearhead a community-desired Splash Pad costing roughly $600,000, raised through donations and possible grant funding.
Park and Recreation Board Member and Splash Pad Fundraising Committee Co-Chair Jeremy Butler says this has been a long time coming.
Butler says this will be the largest Splash Pad in a 50-mile radius.
The Splash Pad fundraising committee has accepted the help of another local volunteer group, SHIFT ATL, to aid with administrative duties and lend their 501c3 designation to the efforts. All donations are tax-deductible; a tax-exempt donation letter will be provided for gifts of $250.00 or greater.
SHIFT ATL can also handle pledges for those who want to pledge and pay it off monthly.
Butler sends out a thank you to the Atlantic City Council for their support of this project.
Fundraising is off to a good start; with the cities $50,000 going directly for this project, and another $16,000 check in hand, the committee has already raised 10 percent of its goal.
Butler says any business, club, or individual interested in a private presentation should contact a committee member or email the group at atlanticiowasplashpad@gmail.com. The committee members include Jeremy Butler, John Krogman, Ali Pieken, Mallory Robinson, Bailey Smith, Jen McEntaffer, Jeff Christensen, and Wyatt Adderton.
The are many ways to donate to this project. Checks can be made payable to the City of Atlantic (Splash Pad on the memo) and dropped off at City Hall. Payable to SHIFT ATL (Splash Pad on memo) and dropped off at the chamber during business hours. And Venmo, @shiftatl-splashpad, in comments with a mailing address.
Using your credit card or PayPal account, you can donate directly from the SHIFT ATL website. The website is atlanticiowasplashpad.com. Suppose you or your business want to support this project at a sponsorship level. In that case, donations over $10,000 include the opportunity to purchase a specific water feature on the pad and have your name, family name, or business on the feature. Learn about upcoming events, view the donation tracker, volunteer, or ask questions. Please get in touch with the committee.
Details will also be posted on the fundraising committee’s website atlanticiowasplashpad@gmail.com or the Facebook page @atlanticiowasplashpad.
