(Harlan) Some impressive athletes highlight the Harlan boys track roster this spring.
Coach Sam Brummer’s group has the potential for a big year. “We bring back quite a bit from last year’s team. We only graduated two seniors.” Coach Brummer says, “We are definitely excited for the prospects of the upcoming season.”
Sprints will be a strength for the Cyclones. Will Neuharth is coming off of a 4th place finish in the 100 at state last year while Iowa football commit Aidan Hall was one of the state’s best before suffering an injury. “Two returning Drake qualifiers in the 100 with Aidan Hall and Will Neuharth so we will definitely look to them to set the tone. Cade Sears is coming back after taking a year off and then Jacob Birch is another guy that a lot of people will know from other sports, but he’s a very solid runner.”
Lukas Francis, Jozef Reisz, Brehden Eggerss, and Franz Reisz will also be key pieces.
Coach Brummer says to keep improving is the main goal. “There are some pretty lofty individual goals that the boys have in some of the meets in May and what they want to accomplish at the blue oval.” Brummer says, “I know quite a few boys have intentions of bringing home a lot of hardware in May so we’ll see what we can do to aid that cause and help them achieve those goals.”
They’ll have a roster size of around 35. Harlan is scheduled to compete at the Northwest Missouri State Indoor Meet on March 18th.
