(Des Moines) The state government reorganization bill is a step closer to the desk of Governor Kim Reynolds. Her nearly 16-hundred-page proposal reduces the number of state agencies from 37 to 16. It passed through the Senate last night and would be the state’s first government overhaul in nearly 40 years. Democratic Senators offered 11 amendments to the bill. All failed.
