(Shelby) Family and friends are rallying together this weekend to help out Rachel Knop who is battling cancer.
Whitney Anderson says Rachel Knop, from Shelby, was first diagnosed with breast cancer in June 2019 at the age of 38.
Anderson said a fundraising event will be held Saturday, March 11 from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at the Walnut Community Center. There will a free-will donation soup supper, a silent and live auction and beginning at 8:00 p.m. there will be a performance by Nashville recording artist Jeremy McComb, joined by Dan Olsen.
Anderson said if you are unable to attend the event, you can Venmo donations to @teamrachelknop, there is also an account set up for Rachel at Shelby County State Bank in Avoca. Volunteers are also welcome to help out with the benefit.
Rachel is the wife of Keith Knop, mom to Cydney (Eric), Saige, Rylie and Reese and grandma to baby Ezra. Rachel graduated from Atlantic High School in 1998.
