(Corning) The Southwest Valley School District is adding more class hours next school year. The Corning School Board approved the 2023-2024 School Calendar on Monday night following a public hearing.
The increase is due to a recommendation from Schools Superintendent Chris Fenster.
The district is currently running 1090 contact hours; next school year, it will increase to 1114.5 hours. The school calendar includes one and a half weeks of Christmas vacation and a spring break in March.
