(Creston) A Union County man faces charges following a two-vehicle crash in Creston.
The Creston Police Department says the accident happened at 10:15 p.m. on Monday on Cherry Street and College Drive. Authorities say 60-year-old Timothy Deone Moreland of Afton suffered injuries in the crash.
Police say Moreland driving a southbound 2020 Subaru swerved to miss a northbound 2005 Chevy Silverado pulling a gooseneck trailer that had drifted into the southbound lane and driven by 38-year-old Christopher Earl Baker of Creston. Baker swerved back into the northbound lane and struck the Subaru head-on trapping Moreland in the car. Firefighters extricated Moreland from the vehicle. EMS ambulance transported him to the Greater Regional Hospital in Creston.
Police found an open container and a twelve-pack of beer in the pickup. Officers arrested Christopher Baker for OWI.
