Council Bluffs man arrested following a pursuit in Mills County

(Mills Co) A Council Bluffs man was arrested following a pursuit in Mills County early this (Tuesday) morning.

The Mills County Sheriff’s Office says at 2:15 a.m., Deputies were advised that Omaha Police Department helicopter Able 1 was tracking a reported stolen vehicle that had fled OPD officers earlier in the morning. A Mills County Deputy located the vehicle traveling south on 287^th Street through Silver City before crashing into an embankment at the intersection of Highway 34 and 284^th Street. A short foot pursuit ensued, and 24-year-old Donovan Belt was apprehended by a Mills County K9 unit. Belt was subsequently treated by medical professionals and taken to the Mills County Jail.

Belt was charged with Theft 1^st Degree, Eluding, Driving While License Revoked, and numerous traffic citations.

A criminal charge/citation is merely accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty
