(Audubon) In November of last year, Audubon City Councilman Nick Weihs resigned because he was moving out of the city limits. The Council opted to fill the vacancy by appointment. Recently, Audubon County received word from the Iowa Secretary of State Office that the vacancy must be placed on the March 7 special election ballot with the bond issue for the new Fire Station.
Audubon City Clerk Joe Foran says the Council passed the resolution at Monday’s City Council meeting. One year remains on the term, which ends in December of this year.
