(Atlantic) Competition week starts tonight for the Atlantic wrestling team. The Trojans travel to ADM for a double dual with the Tigers and Earlham. The Trojans wrestle the Cardinals at 5:30 p.m. and square off against ADM. Then on Friday, the varsity team heads to Humboldt for the Joe Fitch Wrestling Tournament.
Coach Duff likes to start the season with back-to-back competitions.
The Trojans have eleven seniors on the squad and coming off a 22-8 dual season one year ago, defending Hawkeye 10 Wrestling Tournament Championship, 6th Place appearance at the State Dual Tournament, and 9th place finish at the 2022 Individual State Wrestling Tourney.
Three state tournament qualifiers are returning from last year’s squad Aiden Smith, who finished 6th one year ago as a freshman, and seniors Easton O’Brien and Brenden Casey.
