(Atlantic) Two Republican candidates for State Auditor spoke at the Know Your Candidates Forum in Atlantic Monday evening.
Mary Ann Hanusa is a native of Council Bluffs and served in the Iowa House of Representatives from 2011 to 2021. Hanusa said current State Auditor, Democrat Rob Sand, has spent the last four years “politicizing the office and launching baseless attacks against Governor Reynolds”.
Hanusa said she will work for true accountability in Government.
Hanusa said as State Auditor she will be a fair and impartial public servant.
Todd Halbur, of Clive, said he has been involved in politics all of his life, but never as a candidate.
Halbur said he worked for 15 years in the banking business, he and his wife owned a small business for 18 years, and he was CFO of the Iowa Alcoholic Beverage Division.
Mary Ann Hanusa and Todd Halbur will appear on the Republican Ballot for the June 7th Primary Election.
