(Sioux City) The Morningside women’s basketball team is ranked 6th in the nation and finished as the runner-up in the Great Plains Athletic Conference Tournament. The league announced their postseason honors on Wednesday.
The Mustangs have two first team all-conference selections including Exira-EHK alum Sophia Peppers. The 5’10 senior is averaging 14.7 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game. Peppers joined teammate Sierra Mitchell on the first team. Treynor grad Madelyn Deitchler made the first team for Briar Cliff.
Dordt junior Bailey Beckman (Panorama) and Briar Cliff junior Konnor Sudmann (Treynor) are second team selections. Northwestern’s Devyn Kemble (Panorama) was an honorable mention pick.
