(Guthrie Center) The Iowa State Patrol and local law enforcement agencies are saturating several corridors leading to and from the ACGC High School in Guthrie Center.
Iowa State Patrol Trooper Patrick Loest says law enforcement has encountered student drivers from Adair-Casey and Guthrie Center practicing bad driving skills.
Trooper Loest says increased law enforcement presence will continue until the end of the school year and re-assessed from there. He doesn’t see this as a one-time project.
Teens are more likely than older drivers to underestimate or not recognize dangerous situations. Teens are also more likely than adults to make critical decision errors that lead to severe crashes.
