(Atlantic) According to the Cass County Clerk of Courts Office, on February 9, Cass County Attorney Vanessa Strazdas, who pleaded guilty to an OWI 1st Offense charge, was ordered to serve two days in jail and assessed a $1,250.00 fine plus any additional surcharges and court costs. Strazdas is to complete her jail time by March 31, 2022.
The Cass County Sheriff’s Office arrested Strazdas in the early morning hours of January 16. The arrest stemmed from a single-vehicle traffic accident on Highland Road west of 585th Street.
The Cass County Board of Supervisors appointed Strazdas as the new county attorney on February 1, 2019, after Governor Kim Reynolds announced the appointment of County Attorney Michael Hooper as District Court Judge in the Fourth Judicial District.
