(Cass Co.) The Cass County Board of Supervisors approved an Opioid Lawsuit Resolution at their meeting Thursday.
The resolution authorizes Cass County to enter into settlement agreements with McKesson Corporation, Cardinal Health Inc., AmerisourceBergen Corporation, Johnson & Johnson, Janssen Pharmaceuticals Inc., Ortho-McNeil-Janssen Pharmaceuticals Inc., and Janssen Pharmaceutica Inc. and agree to the terms of the Iowa Opioid Allocation Memorandum of Understanding.

Baier said the formulation for distribution is based partly on per-capita, partly on the number of opioid prescriptions written in the county, and partly on hospitalizations and deaths due to opioid overdose; so, there is a formula that is going to be used on how it is distributed to the counties.
