(Clarinda) A Page County Jail inmate faces additional charges for assaulting jail staff.
On October 15, Jailers requested the Page County Sheriff’s Office to assist in the Page County Jail with an out-of-control inmate. Authorities say 25-year old Christopher Rankin of Clarinda, held on charges of Probation Violation and two counts of Interference with Official Acts, assaulted and injured a Deputy.
Deputies and Jailers removed Rankin from the cell and attempted to place him in a restraint chair when he struggled with the officers and assaulted the Deputy.
Following an investigation into this incident, Rankin faces additional charges of Assault on persons engaged in certain occupations (Class D Felony) and Interference with Official Acts (Simple Misdemeanor).
Rankin’s bond is now $5,600.00 (cash only), pending future court hearings.
