(Atlantic) Atlantic running back Dante Hedrington raced 53-yards on the opening play from scrimmage and set the tone for the Trojans’ 42-6 win over Knoxville in a Class 3A District 6 football game at Atlantic.

The Trojans piled up 300 yards of total offense-195-yards on the ground and 105 in the air. Caden Andersen completed 8-10 passes. Dayton Templeton caught five passes for 66 yards and two touchdowns. Hedrington carried the ball 11 times for 142 yards and two touchdowns.
The Panthers were held to 161 yards of total offense, 153 yards rushing, and eight yards passing.
The Trojans second drive started on their own 33. The home team moved the ball 58-yards on seven plays to the Knoxville nine-yard line. Kaden Andersen capped off the drive with a nine-yard TD strike, to Dayton Templeton, and the Trojans were off to a 14-0 lead. Tanner O’Brien’s one-yard run and Templeton’s 23-year catch in the second quarter vaulted the Trojans to a 28-0 lead at the half.
Atlantic added two more scores in the third quarter. Logan Terrell’s pick-six and Hedrington sprung loose again for 40-yards to put the game away 42-0. The Panther’s score came with 6:08 left on Tristin DeJong’s 24-yard TD run.
The Trojans move to 2-5 on the season and travel to Saydel next week. Knoxville falls to 1-6.
