(Lewis) The Lewis Celebration Committee, Cass County Freedom Rock Committee, and Weirich Welding Plus are sponsoring an event on September 11 to help mark the 20th anniversary of 9/11.
The event will be held at Weirich Welding in Lewis from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and will include a free light lunch for current First Responders, Law Enforcement, and Veterans. The Public Lunch will be a free-will offering.
The event will also include unveiling a large 8×20 metal wall of American history entitled “We the People,” created by Duane Weirich.
The following day the creation will be headed to Grand Rapids, Michigan, for entrance in the world’s largest art contest, “Art Prize.”
Weirich’s creation will be one of eight art forms selected to be displayed at the Gerald Ford Art Museum. There are around 800 total entries.
