(Oakland) The 9-9 Riverside Lady Dawgs will be in action Monday against the 10-6 AHSTW Lady Vikes.
The game will air on 96.5 FM KSOM with pregame starting at around 7:15. AHSTW won the first matchup between these teams 7-6 in Avoca on May 27th. These teams split their two meetings last year.
Riverside won four of their five games last week and pitched three shutouts. They were especially sharp in their home tournament on Saturday where they beat Thomas Jefferson 8-0 and Sidney 6-0. Kenna Ford was sharp in the circle. Against TJ she allowed five hits and struck out ten batters. Against Sidney she fanned 14 and allowed four hits.
AHSTW rides a 4-game win streak. They’ve downed Logan-Magnolia, IKM-Manning, Audubon, and Tri-Center in the past week.
Riverside’s offense is led by Kenna Ford and Elly Henderson. Ford is tied for the team lead with 10 RBI and has a .418 batting average. Henderson, an 8th grader, leads the group with 17 runs scored and hits .415. Katie Messerschmidt, Morgan Heiny, Elyssa Amdor, and Ari McGlade all have averages above .300.
Ally Meyers leads the Lady Vikes with a .415 batting average while Graycen Partlow is hitting .408. Natalie Hagadon has driven in a team best 16 runs and carries a .375 average. Sienna Christian, Grace Porter, and Kailey Jones have all been key contributors at the plate as well.
