(Greenfield) Iowa District #20 Representative Ray Sorensen is satisfied with the accomplishments of the 2021 Legislative Session. Iowa Republican Lawmakers wrapped up the session late Wednesday night, with the passing of voting, guns, police, education, abortion, and tax cuts.
Sorensen says as one of 100 members of the House, one of his priorities he hyper-focused on was broadband expansion. He says the administration and regulation budget included $100 million for broadband and ran the Governor’s broadband bill that hopefully put the guardrails on that money.
Iowa Legislators spent 20 extra days past the deadline working on a tax cut package, which was a priority. The package of bills included shifting mental health funding from property taxes to the state, accelerate income tax reductions, and eliminating the state’s inheritance tax.
