(Area) A Minnesota man faces numerous charges following a pursuit through southwest Iowa. Iowa State Patrol Trooper and District #4 Public Information Officer Shelby McCreedy says a trooper attempted a traffic stop on a semi driven by 38-year old Jeremy Samstead of St. James, Minnesota, at around 7:08 a.m. on westbound Interstate 80 near the 75-mile marker.
McCreedy says law enforcement deployed stop sticks which eventually disabled the semi.
Authorities transported Samstead to the Adair County Jail. He is charged with; eluding, speeding, stop sign violation, no electronic logbook, and driving while revoked. Additionally, Samstead has warrants out of Iowa, Minnesota, Missouri, and Wisconsin.
The agencies involved in the incident include; the Iowa State Patrol, Cass County Sheriff Office, Shelby County Sheriff’s Office, Pottawattamie County Sheriff’s Office, and Iowa Motor vehicle Enforcement.
