(Atlantic) Atlantic landed three players in the top 12, and captured the team title at their home golf tournament on Monday, at Nishna Hills Golf Course.
The Trojans posted their best 18-hole tournament score of the season with a 318. Lane Nelson, (runner-up medalist) shot 77, Braden Smith finished fourth overall with a 78, and Garrett McLaren was 10th with an 80. Drey Newell rounded out the scoring for Atlantic with an 83. Cruz Weaver carded a 92, and Roth Den Beste shot 102.
“We felt good about coming out to Nishna Hills, a course we’ve played several times this season,” said Coach Den Beste. “We’ve had a few scores higher than we would have liked this season, but lately we appear to be trending lower each time. We thought we could shoot a good score, and with the wind, this is a good team score. Our guys held it together. ”
Easton Korell medaled for ADM with a 76. The Tigers finished three strokes back as a team with a 321. Finn Garton was 5th with a 79, and Sam Hlas shot 82 and ended up 11th overall.
