(Greenfield) Although residents are eager to return to pre-COVID activities, the virus is still present in Adair County, where the 14-day positivity rate increased this week to 7.7 percent.
ACHS Public Health officials encourage residents to all be part of the solution to protect themselves and others from COVID. In the early months of the pandemic many people felt helpless against the virus. Now there is something we can do – get the vaccine.
Some Adair County residents, 32.9 percent, have embraced the opportunity to receive the vaccine. However, the majority or 67.1 percent have not. Unfortunately, COVID may continue to spread in communities that do not reach higher vaccination rates closer to herd immunity levels.
In addition, it is extremely important for all residents to continue to follow public health guidelines including masking, social distancing and hand washing when interacting in groups, and staying home when sick. Following these recommended health guidelines remains critically important for everyone’s health, whether you have received the vaccine or not.
