(Clarinda) The Clarinda City Council approved a request from the Chamber of Commerce to close several streets for events this year.
According to the Council Minutes, the events include the 7th Annual Cruzin Clarinda on Saturday, June 5th. The Chamber requested closing the downtown square on the east, west and south sides from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and to hold the parade at 5:30 p.m. and closing the appropriate parade route streets.
Back to School Bash on Tuesday, August 24th. The Chamber requested closing off the corner of 14th and Main from 4 to 7 p.m.
The 66th Annual Southwest Iowa Band Jamboree Parade on Saturday, October 2nd from 9 a.m. to Noon. The parade will begin at 9 a.m. with the same route as previous years. The Chamber requested closing the downtown square and parade route from 7:30 a.m. to Noon.
The 62nd Annual Craft Carnival on Saturday, October 16th from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Chamber requested no parking on 6th Street between Grant and Stuart Streets and to be able to place directional signs for the event.
The 29th Annual Kiwanis Lighted Christmas Parade on Friday, November 26th from 6 to 8 p.m. The Chamber requested closing the downtown square and appropriate parade route street intersections.
