(Griswold) The Griswold School Board did not take action on hiring the new Griswold Middle/High School Principal following a series of interviews on Wednesday evening. The hiring process comes on the heels of Billy Hiatt’s resignation.
Eighteen people applied for the job and narrowed it to three finalists. The three finalists were interviewed in a closed session on Wednesday evening. The three finalists individually spent an hour with each group made up of School Board members, Administrators, and Community members. Griswold Elementary Principal Nigel Horton says the board is expected to decide in the coming days.
Additionally, Mr. Horton says the School Board agreed to continue with the current face mask policy.
On April 14, three students tested positive for COVID-19 following the school prom, which resulted in the quarantine of 52-students. In addition to that, two students and a staff member tested positive for COVID-19 on April 17 and 18, mainly due to home exposure.
