(Clarinda) A Page County woman is in custody in connection with a death investigation in Clarinda.
According to Clarinda Police Chief Keith Brothers, Officers arrested 51-year old Melissa Renee Pedersen of Clarinda at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, at a residence at 800 W. Tarkio Street, under a Page County warrant for felony dependent adult abuse. Officer’s transported Pedersen to the Page County Jail and held her on an $11,000 cash-only bond.
Clarinda Police and the Iowa State Medical Examiner’s Office investigated the death of Thomas Joseph Pedersen, who was found dead in his home at 600 West Lincoln Street on June 20, 2020. Melissa Pedersen and Thomas Pedersen were married and residing together at the time of Thomas Pedersen’s death.
The reports have been forwarded to the Page County Attorney’s Office for decisions concerning the formal filing of charges.
