(Griswold) The Griswold School Board is expected to announce the new Middle School/High School Principal later this week.
The Griswold School Board will conduct interviews on Wednesday. The process began following the resignation of Billy Hiatt.
Eighteen people applied for the job. The list has been narrowed down to three candidates.
Griswold shared Superintendent Dave Henrichs says three groups make up the interview process. The School and administration, staff, and the third group is comprised of parents and students. Henrichs says each candidate will spend approximately one hour with each group.
The School Board will also discuss and take possible action on the mask mandate. Henrichs said on April 14, and three students tested positive for COVID-19 on the heels of the school’s junior-senior prom, which resulted in some exposure and the quarantine of 52-students. Two students and a staff member tested positive on April 17 and 18, mainly due to home exposure.
Dave Henrichs says it will be up to the board to decide on a more stringent mask policy.
The meeting starts at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, starting with the discussion on the interview process, followed by the interview process in a closed session.
