(Guthrie Co.) Guthrie County Attorney Brenna Bird told the Board of Supervisors Tuesday that the State Patrol, Sheriff’s Office and area law enforcement held a project at AC/GC and Panorama High Schools. She said they did extra patrols and then had a school assembly where they talked about texting and driving, wearing a seatbelt, and the importance of safe driving.
Bird said at that time the kids got warning tickets for texting to get their attention, but in the future there won’t be a warning. She said this was a chance for people to change their behavior.
Bird also noted they recently held a big Operating While Intoxicated training for law enforcement. She said the County Law Enforcement all participated and they invited Audubon, Adair and Cass Counties to participate via video conferencing.
