(Atlantic) Atlantic Schools Superintendent Steve Barber says the district is experiencing limited applicants for some hard-to-fill positions.
At Wednesday’s school meeting, Barber says there are two Special Education positions open, along with an English language teacher supervisor and a Language Arts Middle School Teacher.
Mr. Barber says some experts predict 25-percent attrition nationwide in the teaching field much higher than the 8% yearly average. COVID-19 and Remote learning is blamed for a portion of the problem.
The School Board on Wednesday approved contracts for Holly Esbeck, High School Social Studies, Matthew Best, JV Football Coach and High School Physical Education and Weight Training Teacher, and Evan Adamon, High School Vocal High School Music Teacher.
