(Audubon) The City of Audubon is considering adding a stop sign at 3rd and South Streets.
City Clerk Joe Foran says a resident approached the council about the intersection during their meeting this week. “Right now on that intersection it’s a two way stop. The east and west bound is kind of an issue because on the west bound there is quite a hill that you come up on and there is a slight one going east bound. It becomes kind of hard to see people coming on that intersection.”
The suggestion is to make it a three way stop. The council tabled it to give them more time to think about it.
In other activity, an engineering agreement with JEO Consulting was approved for a sidewalk from the school to the rec center. “There’s about three different grants to put a side walk down from the school to the rec center and they are requiring the city since we are the entity on record to sign an engineering agreement with JEO.”
The council on Monday turned down a buyout lease offer from US Cellular. US Cellular offered $87,000, but the council rejected the deal in order to continue receiving $525 per month for the lease.
