(Des Moines) Iowa House District 21 Representative Tom Moore said the COVID relief bill passed the Iowa house this week.
Moore said the bill provides additional relief for businesses during this pandemic.
“It exempts federal Covid-related grants and unemployment benefits from state income tax. This will provide $128 million in tax relief to Iowa’s hardest hit businesses. This will be paid for by the taxpayer relief fund and one time ending balance money,” explained Moore.
The bill passed the House on Wednesday with a vote of 94-0 with six not voting.
Tom Moore said the Teacher Licensure bill passed out of the House Education Committee on Wednesday with a unanimous vote of 22-0.
“This bill allows half of the teacher licensure renewal credit to be earned through successful completion of an individualized professional development curriculum or professional development courses,” said Moore.
