(Atlantic) Brian Ruge of Browns Shoe Fit, this year’s winner of the Scrooge contest, led Atlantic’s Annual Christmas Lighted Parade down Main Street in Atlantic on Saturday evening.
The Scrooge contestants included Brian Ruge with Brown’s Shoe Fit, Tami Shellberg with HyVee, Jon Martens with Aunt B’s, and Team Lundquist: Jeff and Heather Lundquist, of the Atlantic News Telegraph.
The contestants this year raised a record amount in cash for the Atlantic Food Pantry: $23,348.10. They also brought in a total of 2,415 food items.
To accommodate the State of Iowa Public Health mandates, the route was extended. The parade route started at 6th & Chestnut Street, traveled north to 2nd Street and south on Walnut Street. Spectators parked on Main Street.
Before the parade, Santa appeared in his Cabin at City Park.
