(Anita) Week 3 of KSOM’s Inside the Helmet feature on the In the Huddle show brings us a visit with CAM QB Lane Spieker.
Spieker has picked up a new position and grasped it well. The junior is 8/10 passing on the season for 153 yards. He’s thrown three touchdowns and one interception. His forte comes in the ground game where he averages over 11 yards per carry. Spieker has run 15 times this season for 167 yards and four TD’s. He’s also found his way to the end zone on two punt returns and one kick return.
While Spieker has taken the snaps in Week 1 and Week 2, the pending return of Ethan Arp to the lineup will allow the Cougar’s to use Spieker’s skill set in other ways moving forward. We hope to visit with Arp for this segment at some point during the playoffs.
