(Cedar Rapids, IA) — The candidates running for Iowa Governor addressed the lack of mental health care during their final debate Tuesday night. Democrat Rob Sand recalled how his home was broken into last year by a mentally ill man.
Republican Zach Lahn said he believes more mental health facilities should be opened in the state.
Sand wants to end Medicaid privatization, which he says has led providers to close their doors. Lahn says the system needs more oversight.
Zach Lahn said during the final debate that he’s opposed to having boys in girls’ bathrooms and young students exposed to books about sexuality.
But Democrat Rob Sand vows to veto bills that further restrict abortion.
