(Atlantic) October 14 and October 19 are two key dates for the 2026 General Election. Cass County Auditor Kathy Somers says voters can begin casting absentee ballots in person at their respective county auditor’s offices on October 14. Somers says October 14 is also the first day the Auditor’s Office can mail absentee ballots to voters who have already requested them. October 19 is the last day voters can request an absentee ballot by mail.
Somers says the other thing to remember is that if you haven’t already pre-registered to vote, it is time to do so.
Somers says there is also a process called election day registration.
Somers says the deadline to be pre-registered to vote is October 19. Voters can vote absentee in person through November 2. On Election Day, November 3, voters must vote at their assigned polling centers.
In Cass County, Somers says two locations are moving to their permanent locations. Somers says the Massena Public Library and the CAM Middle School Library are moving to the new Massena Community Building. At 116 Main Street. If you live in Edna Township, Victoria Township, East Massena Township, West Massena Township, or the City of Massena, your new polling center is the Massena Community Center. Union and Cumberland residents will still vote at the Cumberland Community Center.
