(Iowa City, IA) — A pedestrian that was on Interstate 80 was struck by two different vehicles and killed near Iowa City at mile marker 245 in the early hours of Sunday.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, the accident occurred at 1:05 am when the unidentified person was struck first by a 2026 tractor trailer truck driven by 80 year old Terry Evearitt of Lancaster, PA. The person then was hit again this time by a 2025 Buick Enclave driven by 25 year old Macey Rodgers of Muscatine, IA. The person was standing in the middle of the road, according to the police report although the accident remains under investigation.
The name of the victim has not been released — the person was taken to the University of Iowa Hospitals by the Johnson County Medical Examiner’s Office
