(Cass County) Multiple fire departments and emergency agencies responded to a large shop fire in southern Cass County on Wednesday afternoon.
The call was dispatched at 4:46 p.m. for a fire at 58708 Yankton Road, south of Griswold near the Montgomery County line. Thick black smoke billowed from the structure and its contents as it burned, visible for miles.
The Griswold Fire Department led the response and was assisted by departments from Lewis, Cumberland, Red Oak, Stanton, Villisca, Elliott, Grant, along with Cass County Emergency Management Coordinator Mike Kennon, and Cass EMS.
No additional details were immediately available.
