(Council Bluffs) A man wanted in a homicide case in Ralston, Nebraska is in custody in Pottawattamie County.
Council Bluffs Police Sergeant Michael S. Hernandez says on June 6, 2026, at approximately 7:00 AM, the Council Bluffs Police Department assisted the U.S. Marshals Service in the apprehension of a wanted fugitive at an apartment complex located at 720 Mynster St Apt. D. U.S. Marshals positively identified the suspect, George W. Hatfield, at the location. Hatfield was
wanted on an active arrest warrant for a homicide that occurred in Ralston, Nebraska, on June 4, 2026.
Sergeant Hernandez says U.S. Marshals successfully ordered Hatfield out of the apartment, and Council Bluffs Police officers took him into custody without further incident. Hatfield was transported to the Pottawattamie County Corrections Center, where he was booked on the charge of fugitive from Justice pending extradition back to Nebraska. Hatfield did not have any other local charges.
All questions concerning the underlying homicide investigation must be directed to the Ralston Police Department (Nebraska).
All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
