(Des Moines) An active weather pattern is expected to return to the state again late this week. Ashley Bury, Meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Des Moines, says showers and thunderstorms are forecast to develop late afternoon and early Thursday evening. Bury says the system will spread from southwest Iowa and increase in coverage as it spreads to the rest of the state.
Bury says there are additional chances for weather on Friday.
The northwest portion of the state faces the greatest threat of severe weather on Thursday night and Friday.
Bury says the state will continue to experience above-normal temperatures and rainfall through the middle of the month, with some weather patterns possible.
