(Atlantic) The Atlantic Boys’ Golf Team polished off a solid spring season with a fourth-place finish in a tight race at the Class 3A State Golf Tournament at Waterloo this past week. The Trojans finished the two-day tournament with 617, just seven strokes behind 3A Champion Ballard. For their resiliency and top finish, they are awarded this week’s KS95.7 Armor Insurance Trojan Athletes of the Week.

Hudson McLaren tied for 19th place to lead the Trojans with a two-day total, nine-over-par 153. McLaren fired rounds of 77 and 76. Sam Brosam followed closely with two rounds of 77, finishing at 10 over par with a total of 154, and a tie for 21st. Both Brady Wood and Gage Gross finished with a score of 155 (11 over par) and tied for 24th. Wood shot 80 on the first day and carded a 75 in round two. Gross shot a 76 and a 79. Braxton Hass recorded a total of 177, with rounds of 90 and 87. Jack Muller posted a second-round score of 96.
The Trojans improved their team score by 17 strokes from last year’s state tournament’s ninth-place finish. Parker Rogers of Nevada defended his 2025 title with a five-under-par 139.
