(Des Moines) The National Weather Service in Des Moines says a weather pattern will bring a final round of thunderstorms and potential severe weather across portions of Iowa today.
Western Iowa is under an enhanced risk of 3 out of 5 for severe weather. Multiple rounds of heavy rainfall could lead to flooding across Iowa.
Ongoing showers and thunderstorms this morning may influence storm strength and timing later today.
The National Weather Service predicts the line of storms will move through western Iowa at around 5:00 p.m., and most likely 6:00 p.m. to midnight. The storms will move into central Iowa from 8:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m., and into eastern Iowa from 9:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m.
Forecasters say all severe weather modes are possible, including damaging winds, tornadoes, heavy rain, and large hail.
