(Atlantic) The Atlantic boys’ soccer team earned its first victory of the season Friday night, defeating Red Oak 7-2. Tom Robinson has the story.
Head coach Ben Andersen said the Trojans had a balanced scoring effort. Justin Smith and Christiano Ayala each netted two goals, while Trevor Ellison, Cooper Kinney, and Caleb Andersen added one apiece. Andersen credited the team’s offensive success to their ability to create and exploit open space on the field.
Coach Andersen says the focus this week will be on effort.
Andersen gave a shoutout to Justin Smith. He says Smith put in the work last week, and it paid off with a goal.
Smith leads the team in goals with 3, Ellison, and Ayala, 2 each. Andersen, and Kinney each have one goal apiece.
Next up for the Trojans is a game with St. Albert on Tuesday.
